🗑️ Account Deletion
Last updated: May 2026
1. Purpose of This Page
This page explains how account deletion (deactivation) works at Garden Grid, what data we keep or remove, processing timeframes, and your alternatives. We recommend reading it before requesting account deletion.
2. Irreversible Action
Account deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deactivated, you will no longer be able to log in with it. Your gardens, posts, and related data will no longer be accessible through this account. You may create a new account later (including with the same email) if you wish.
3. Steps and Conditions to Delete Your Account
To request account deletion (deactivation):
- 1. Go to Account Settings (website or mobile app).
- 2. Tap or click "Delete account" in the Account actions section.
- 3. Read the information shown and, if you wish, review this page for full details.
- 4. Enter your current password to confirm your identity.
- 5. Confirm deletion. Your account will be deactivated immediately and you will be logged out.
4. What Happens When You Delete?
When you confirm account deletion:
- Your account is deactivated (inactive status): you can no longer log in with that account.
- You lose access to your gardens, posts, messages, and data linked to that account from the interface.
- You may create a new account later (same email may be allowed per our registration policy).
5. Data We Retain
To comply with legal obligations and for the security of our services, we may retain some data after your account is deactivated:
- Data required to meet legal obligations (e.g. billing, disputes, evidence) for the periods required by law.
- Anonymized or aggregated data used for statistics or service improvement, which cannot identify you.
Detailed timeframes (account, gardens, billing, support, logs, backups, etc.) are set out in the "Data Retention" section of our Privacy Policy, available at the same official URL you provide to app stores (e.g. Google Play).
6. Processing Timeframe
Account deactivation takes effect immediately after you confirm (by entering your password and submitting). You are logged out right away. Related technical processing (anonymization, legal archiving) may take up to 30 days depending on our internal processes.
7. Cancellation
Once you have clicked "Confirm deletion" and entered your password correctly, deactivation is immediate and cannot be undone by us. If you have not yet submitted (e.g. you closed the window without sending the form), no deletion is performed.
8. Alternatives to Deletion
Before deleting your account, you may consider:
- Turning off notifications (email, push) in settings to reduce outreach.
- Exporting your data if that feature is available (e.g. download of your gardens or history).
- Changing your privacy or sharing preferences to limit how your data is used.
9. Need Help?
If you are unsure or have an issue (login, account recovery, use of your data), contact us before requesting deletion. We can guide you or offer a suitable solution.

10. GDPR Compliance and Right to Erasure
Account deactivation and the processing of your personal data are carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have a right to erasure (right to be forgotten). By requesting account deletion, you are exercising this right to the extent allowed by our legal obligations and technical processes. Some data may be retained for legitimate reasons (legal obligations, exercise of legal rights).
For any question about your personal data or to contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO): dpo@gardengrid.pro
